Kent Broughton has been named Assistant Director of the Center on Community Philanthropy at the Clinton School of Public Service.
Broughton, a 2015 graduate of the Clinton School’s Master of Public Service degree program, is committed to building strong communities through their strengths, gifts, and talents, which aligns directly with the Center on Community Philanthropy’s vision and mission.
“I genuinely enjoy working with people and communities as we explore and practice ways to create sustainable transformational change, in which the Center on Community Philanthropy provides that unique opportunity,” said Broughton, who joined The Center in August 2017. “I am enthusiastic about my expanding responsibility in supporting the Center’s continued growth and impact – particularly in the practice of Community Philanthropy and Racial Healing.”
Before joining The Center, Broughton worked with the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation as a fellow leading their marginalized male initiative, Boys and Men Opportunity Success Team (BMOST). The initiative is a collaborative effort to improve and increase the opportunities for boys and men of color. His experience with BMOST adds to his extensive background of working to advance equity and promote inclusion.
In addition to his MPS from the Clinton School, Broughton earned a degree in political science from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
