Richards Elected to National Issues Forums Institute Board of Directors

Dr. Robert C. Richards, Jr. has been elected to the Board of Directors of the National Issues Forums Institute (NIFI). Richards’s term begins this year and runs through Spring 2025.

Based in Dayton, Ohio, NIFI is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that serves to promote public deliberation about difficult public issues. Its activities include publishing the issue guides and other materials used by local forum groups, encouraging collaboration among forum sponsors, and sharing information about current activities in the network.

NIFI has a distinguished group of 16 directors and officers drawn from such diverse fields as government, journalism, and secondary and higher education. Many NIFI directors also have extensive experience in neighborhood and civic organizations, libraries, and religious organizations.

Over the past two years, Richards has worked with Winthrop Rockefeller Institute and Central Arkansas Library System to hold several public dialogues using issue guides published by NIFI.

In 2021, Richards worked with WRI and CALS to host a series of virtual dialogues on the nation’s economic recovery, food security, and police reform and race.
