Several of the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service students pursuing concurrent law degrees from the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law are taking on clerkships, fellowships, and externships with law firms and judges this spring and summer.
Below is a closer look at their work:
- Salina Adolph is working with the Center for Arkansas Legal Services as a Pro Bono Coordinator. Adolph helps refer the civil cases of low-income clients to volunteer attorneys in six Arkansas counties, coordinate the pro bono record-sealing clinics, and facilitate the Lawyer in the Library program, in which CALS attorneys have short consultations with low-income clients at the Bowen Law School Library.
- Mark Cameron is clerking at Kutak Rock from May-June and will be clerking at Friday, Eldredge & Clark in July and August. He will work with Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard during the Fall 2019 semester.
- Wes Manus is doing a Public Service Externship through the Bowen Law School with U.S. District Judge Bill Wilson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
- Christian Scott is currently a law clerk in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge’s office. Last summer, Scott was as a law clerk in the Communications, Law and Policy Department at the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, where she worked directly with Arkansas Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) issues.
- Madhav Shroff is currently clerking for the Arkansas Department of Information Systems, an Arkansas agency which provides information technology solutions to improve the lives of Arkansans. This fall, he will be clerking at the Sanford Law Firm, one of the leading employment law firms in Arkansas.
- Joseph Stepina is currently clerking at Williams & Anderson and will clerk at the Arkansas Municipal League in the summer and fall.
- Allison Tschiemer is currently clerking at Munson, Rowlett, Moore & Boone and focusing on civil litigation. In the first half of the summer, Tschiemer will be clerking at the Department of Information Services, an Arkansas agency which provides information technology solutions to improve the lives of Arkansans. In the second half of the summer, she will be clerking at Anderson, Murphy, Hopkins, which specializes in the legal defense of doctors, nursing homes, insurers, and caregivers.
- Jerome Wilson is clerking at the Pulaski County Prosecutors Office in the Complaints Department under Deputy Prosecutor Jill Kamps.
- Marquisa Wince is clerking with the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission this summer. Wince will assist in research related to matters of public policy which impact the ability of low-income Arkansans to obtain justice in the civil court system.
