Fleming Named Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas

Kelly Fleming (‘13) has been named Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas.

Fleming has served as the Director of Development/Chief Development Officer for the Arkansas Arts Center for the past seven years and most recently was part of an ongoing capital campaign of $128 million. She has also raised funds for Arkansas Repertory Theatre and Heifer Foundation.

In November 2019, she was honored as a member of Arkansas 250, the annual look from Arkansas Business at the people who shape the way Arkansans live, learn, and do business.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas,” Fleming said in a press release. “The organization creates meaningful and lasting impact for our neighbors and community. I look forward to being a part of the effort that will make a positive difference for even more people who are in need of affordable, safe, and decent shelter.”

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states and in approximately 70 countries. Habitat’s vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat works toward its vision by building strength, stability, and self-reliance in partnership with families in need of decent and affordable housing.

Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas is in the process of implementing a plan of strategic growth in developing safe, stable, attractive communities, ensuring the successful homeownership for each Habitat borrower and collaborating with other nonprofit organizations to revitalize neighborhoods.

As a student at the Clinton School, Fleming traveled to Arezzo, Italy, to work with Academia Del’Arte, conducting a process and impact evaluation and creating a sustainability plan for the organization’s art festival. She completed her Capstone project with Just Communities of Arkansas, developing a creative writing workshop curriculum for middle school youth.
