Kat Ling recently joined Moonshot EdVentures, an organization in Denver, Colo., that finds and supports diverse leaders to design and launch the learning environments of tomorrow. Ling, who is currently enrolled in the Executive Master of Public Service degree program, will serve as the organization’s Chief of Staff.
Moonshot’s goal is to transform the learning environments for students of color by surfacing leaders who represent the communities they aim to serve through community building efforts and a high-impact cohort-based fellowship experience.
Previously, Ling worked for Teach for America, Arkansas, in various positions, most recently as Managing Director of Alumni & Lifelong Leadership Development. She also served as Manager of Teacher Leadership Development, and as Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusiveness. She managed a team responsible for district partnerships, licensure, hiring, and placement for new educators in Arkansas.
Ling is a graduate of Cornell University where she studied English and Feminist, Gender & Sexuality Studies and conducted an honors thesis on cultural responsiveness in the young adult fiction genre.
