An economist, Arturo is a recognized leader and policy expert in the digital economy, on topics such as Entrepreneurship, Small Businesses, Innovation, and Access. Arturo has an expansive career experience in the private, public and academic sectors, including senior leadership positions at the Federal Reserve Board, Meta, Visa, amongst others.

At Meta, Arturo is the Director of Advocacy & Research where he oversees global research efforts with regards to value creation for small businesses and individuals. Currently he is interested in the economic contribution of the metaverse and creators.

He is the author of numerous academic pieces as well policy-oriented research analysis. Arturo completed his bachelor’s degree from University of California, Los Angeles and his PhD from University of California, Santa Barbara. At UCSB Arturo was awarded the Lancaster Dissertation Award for best social sciences dissertation. He is a recipient of The Richard Riordan Programs & UCLA Anderson School of Management’s Legacy Award (2017) and 2022 Riordan Hall of Fame inductee. Arturo is also a member of the UCSB Alumni Board of Directors.

Arturo is married to Heather B. Gonzalez (parents of William and Henry).
