Congressional staff panel discussion

Clinton School of Public Service (Sturgis Hall)

U.S. Congressional staff members Alexis Covey-Brandt, floor director for House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D, Md.), and Catlin O’Neill, deputy director of legislative operations for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D, Calif.), will give a firsthand perspective of the legislative process, including the current debate on pending health care legislation.

Covey-Brandt manages the daily House floor schedule and works with House leadership to implement the Democratic legislative agenda. O’Neill works with House leadership, other House members, the Senate and the White House to ensure that the speaker’s legislative priorities are accomplished.
