Former Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte was America’s first director of national intelligence (2005-2007), responsible for oversight and coordination of the nearly 100,000 intelligence community employees across 16 federal agencies and departments. A career diplomat, Negroponte previously served as the U.S. ambassador to Iraq (2004-2005) and ambassador to the United Nations (2001-2004). At the Clinton School, Negroponte will discuss current events in American foreign affairs.
